11 Mar 2009. 6 Comments.  Tags: , , . - Posted by Josh Borthwick

This is a very comprehensive look at digital advertising trends and what to look for over 2009. My top 10 key insights are as follows:

  1. The increased popularity of building applications and syndicating content as a way of building brand value with consumers
  2. Trends toward differentiation as well as measurability as a key strength of online advertising
  3. Social networking may not find the killer advertising app. big sites were hoping for, but it will remain an increasingly important place for brand conversations
  4. Moves away from portal advertising toward vertical (networks and aggregates) audience based spends, on top of the continued consolidation of ad-networks
  5. Search spending will slow
  6. Creativity, responsiveness and ROI delivered will sort the publisher men out from the boys
  7. 30′second TV spots will evaporate far more quickly than TV networks anticipated
  8. Ad exchanges (auction based self-service CPM / CPC buying) will proliferate
  9. Audiences will access more portable content (largely on mobile interfaces)
  10. The digital pulse will become increasingly instant – increasing the importance of emarketing, SMS, RSS and social feeds like Twitter

Here’s the AdHub March 09 rate-card

We’ve added two more exciting sites to the AdHub network – Voxy.co.nz and Sella.co.nz. Voxy is a premium news, sport, politics and opinions site. On top of great hourly news from the wires, the site also has a growing list of bloggers who contribute their thoughts on the world around them. The site has just over 60,000 monthly users and a 60% male audience.

Sella was born of New Zealand’s demand for a simplified fee structure for listing and selling items online. The site is an online Classifieds and Auction site that is completely 100% free to list and sell items online. Users enjoy a simplified store structure and listing process along with tens of thousands of products for sale online. Monthly users – just over 175,000 with a 67% female audience.

AdHub now sports an estimated 500,000 unduplicated users per month across the network and an email database of more than 100,000 people. If you’re looking for broad coverage across high quality niche sites or specific audiences and high-profile placements – please get in touch. We currently have a number of sponsorship opportunities on the table:

  1. Wine and dining sponsor – MenuMania.co.nz
  2. Men’s fashion sponsor – GetFrank.co.nz
  3. Home & Garden, plus a Motoring and Marine sponsor – grownUps.co.nz
